A 2020 report which presents the case for a modern national power utility - a New Eskom. Unfortunately, in the public discourse around energy in South Africa, the word ‘Eskom' has become an expletive. To suggest that a reformed publicly utility can and must play a new and perhaps expanded role in shaping the country’s energy future as it transitions away from coal sounds ludicrous. But this is exactly what the situation demands, and this report explains why. A 2021 policy report which argues that it is time to rediscover the roots of our resilience by grounding land policy in collective action and democratic forms of land politics. This is based on an understanding of land not as a commodity but as a common resource, a living territory and a natural landscape. It corresponds closely with a philosophy of land stewardship: a deep and abiding relationship to land that is based on care-taking and an appreciation that land is held in trust, for now and for future generations. A 2021 which shows that neoliberal climate and energy policy has failed. It argues that the pursuit of endless growth and capitalist accumulation has resulted in an energy expansion, rather than an energy transition. A 2021 article which aims to understand the historical, economic and political reasons for the dependence of Morocco’s energy sector, which threatens what remains of Moroccan sovereignty and aggravates social inequalities. Furthermore, the article shows how in this situation it is the most deprived populations in the country that pay for the political and economic choices made by the colonized elite, which serves as the partner of transnational corporations and international banks. A 2019 study which offers a number of suggestions for businesses, the social partners and policy-makers, who urgently need to find forms of dialogue and synthesis, also in view of the opportunities offered by the European policies in the framework of the 2021-2027 financial programming. Hot Reports

Covid-19 and a Just Transition in India's Coal Mining Sector The COVID 19 pandemic hit India hard in early 2020, with negative GDP growth and a surge in unemployment. In the energy sector, coal fired power generation was already under pressure from overcapacity, low electricity demand growth, and increasingly competitive renewables.
Considerations for a Just and Equitable Energy Transition As the energy transition accelerates, it is our responsibility, it is our opportunity, to ensure that in addition to contributing to a healthy planet by replacing fossil fuels with clean energy sources, this is accomplished in a just and equitable manner providing prosperity for all.
