A 2022 report which maps out the key stakeholder groups, focusing on domestic meat markets in high-consuming developed countries, and identifies guiding principles for a 'just transition' away from large-scale meat production and consumption.

A 2017 Presentation by Hadrian Mertins-Kirkwood of the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, which took place at ACW All Team Meeting at York University, Toronto in November 2017. It summarizes the numbers of jobs in the fossil fuel industry by province and in the top-10 most fossil fuel dependent communities in Canada. It discusses the concept of “reactive” and “proactive” Just Transition. This presentation is more fully developed in the subsequent report "Making Decarbonization Work for Workers: Policies for a just transition to a zero-carbon economy" (https://yorkspace.library.yorku.ca/xmlui/handle/10315/39435).

A 2018 report which distinguishes between reactive 'just transition' policies, which are intended to minimize the harm to workers of decarbonization, and proactive just transition policies, which are intended to maximize the benefits. If the broad goal of a just transition is to ensure an equitable, productive outcome for all workers in the zero-carbon economy, a mix of reactive and proactive elements is necessary

A 2021 book which illuminates the places where theory and reality converge and presents an approach to municipal development, planning, and governance that takes seriously the urgent need to address climate change and injustice. Addressing a wide variety of topics and themes, including energy, diversity, economic development, and ecological health, Sustainability Matters is both a critique of current practice and a vision for the future that uses the city of Calgary as a microcosm to address issues faced by cities around the world.

A 2022 dissertation which comprises three papers: 1) a critical overview of fair shares and decarbonization scenarios, and a way to
reconcile what should be done with what experts think can be done (with a Canadian case study); 2) a framework for climate testing proposed fossil fuel infrastructure that can be used to evaluate an individual project's compatibility with global or domestic emissions reduction targets (with a case study of Canadian gas); and 3) an analysis of the potential for a shift towards services to mitigate GHG emissions and other environmental impacts.

Covid-19 and a Just Transition in India's Coal Mining Sector
The COVID 19 pandemic hit India hard in early 2020, with negative GDP growth and a surge in unemployment. In the energy sector, coal fired power generation was already under pressure from overcapacity, low electricity demand growth, and increasingly competitive renewables.
Considerations for a Just and Equitable Energy Transition
As the energy transition accelerates, it is our responsibility, it is our opportunity, to ensure that in addition to contributing to a healthy planet by replacing fossil fuels with clean energy sources, this is accomplished in a just and equitable manner providing prosperity for all.
